Sorghum millet is a grass farmed for its grain, which is used for human nourishment, and animal feed. It is rich in nutrients and drought-tolerant, hence an important source of nourishment for the poor populations. It is also known in other places as great millet, broomcorn, guinea corn, durra, imphee, jowar, or milo.
